MATTERS OF THE HEART: Holding Poetic Therapeutic Space
Speakers: Ken Milling / Andre Zanardo / Gregg Kershaw / Brittain Garrett
Four Jungian Analysts speak about the Jungian ideas that inform their work in a creative and meaningful way. What is it in their individual practice that they feel most passionate about? Ken will present and discuss a metaphor that reflects aspects of Jung’s notion of ‘teleological drive’ and the emergence of symbolic imagination out of the conflict between conscious and unconscious. Andre speaks about defensive repetitive patterns, mourning and the ‘imaginal’. For Gregg it is the art of describing something simply, of reaching for the essence. And for Brittain it is holding space for psyche and trusting the process that feels most important.
Each in their own way are constructing and holding a therapeutic poetic space. This talk will highlight how creative the process of analysis is, because we all work in different ways, and yet the aim, holding space for matters of the heart, is the same.Ken Milling is a Jungian Analyst in private practice in Fremantle.<
